The Village currently has an open position on the Board of Zoning Appeals. The BZA is a five-member board that conducts public hearings as needed in regard to various zoning issues. The purpose of the BZA is to hear and decide the following:

  • Applications for a zoning variance
  • Applications for a Conditional Use Permit
  • All zoning-related Administrative Appeals
  • Appointments to the BZA are for three (3) year terms.
  • The number of hearings are determined by the number of applications that are submitted requesting a BZA ruling.
  • You must be a village resident to serve on the BZA.

The Village currently has an open position on the Albany Planning Commission. The Planning Commission is a five-member board that administers, reviews, and makes recommendations to Village Council for amendments to the;

  • Albany Subdivision Regulations
  • Albany Zoning Code
  • Albany Zoning Map

This commission also reviews the following items:

  • Plans and designs for new subdivisions.
  • Advise Village Council concerning future developments.
  • Other proposals as defined by Ohio Revised Code.
  • Appointments to the Commission are for six (6) year terms.
  • The Planning Commission meets as needed but is required to meet at least once per quarter each year.
  • This position may be filled by anyone living in either the Village or Lee or Alexander Townships.
