The Village of Albany has a population 828 and is located in southeastern Ohio in Athens County.  The Village Office is located at 5153 Alton Street in Albany, Ohio.  The hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Fridays.  We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.  Our phone number is 740-698-6127.  

The next Regular Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday June 17, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. This meeting will be conducted virtually.  The public is invited to join the meeting by using the following information:

Anyone wishing to provide comments to the Council must notify the Village Office at 740-698-6127 by 3 p.m. on June 17, 2020.  If there is no answer leave your name and phone number on the answering machine and we will get back to you.  

Census 2020.  It is very important that all residents of the Village respond to the census.  This information helps determine how federal funds are spent in our community for the next ten years.  You may respond to the census online at https://my2020census.gov/ If you do not have a census ID, please click on Start Here and then the link that says “click here if you do not have a census ID” and enter your address.

NOTICE:  The Village of Albany Office has reopened as of June 1, 2020.

COVID-19 Update:  There  have been 18 cases of COVID-19 reported in Athens County. There have been 36,792 confirmed and probable cases in Ohio.

Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton, M.D. MPH, has issued a “Stay at Home” order that will be in effect from March 23, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. until April 6, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.  You may read the entire order here:   Stay at Home Order  This order has been extended to May 29, 2020 with certain businesses being allowed to open on specific dates.

The Albany Area Fire Department is conducting a door-to-door fundraiser.  Robert and Jan Gallagher from Superior Studios will be going door to door asking for support in the amount of $20.00 which will entitle supporters to a gift certificate for a free 8×10 family portrait.  They will be driving a gold GMC Terrain or a gray Toyota Camry.  Any residents with questions should contact Lee Bolen at 740-447-3471.
